Cruise ship MS Europa (2) February 2024

14 February 2024

This week on Tuesday the third cruise ship for 2024 arrived at Cascade Bay, on 13 February 2024. The weather has been windy during the past week and two other vessels were sheltering in the bay as well, The MV Norfolk, cargo vessel and Victoire, an LPG tanker.

The weather was gusty wind and light showers of rain passing when MS Europa (2) arrived, and the Norfolk Island Radio Station announced in the morning, that the 370 passengers would not disembark, due to the sea conditions. Instead, they had a scenic trip, sailing around Norfolk Island before heading south to New Zealand. The sun was shining, and the ship looked impressive with the waves on the foreshore, and I snapped a couple of photos as the MS Europa (2) sailed passed Kingston early Tuesday morning.

MS Europa (2) current cruise is 14 days, one-way from Lautoka to Auckland. The itinerary started at Fiji on 02 February 2024 and ends in Auckland, New Zealand on 16 February 2024. The passengers South Pacific adventure travels the islands of Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island, then south to the Bay of Islands in New Zealand ending in Auckland, the City of Sails.

Built in 2013, this 11-year-old cruise ship sails under the flag of Malta, and MS Europa (2) can accommodate up to 516 passengers and 370 crew. The vessel has eleven decks with 251 cabins on five of the ship’s decks. This cruise ship is owned by TUI AG (via TUI Cruises GmbH) and operates under Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. I read that MS Europa (2) was last refurnished in 2020.

The next scheduled visiting cruise ship on my list is next month on Friday 15 March, Phoenix cruise ship Amera with approx 834 passengers, followed by the P&O Pacific Encounter which is scheduled to arrive on 16 July 2024.
