COUNCIL of ELDERS ANNUAL NORFOLK ISLAND AWARDS

2022 Dinner and Presentation

Saturday 1st October 2022

The annual Norfolk Island Awards dinner and presentation was to have been 11th June as the closing function of Bounty Week – regrettably, but necessarily, this was postponed due to the Covid surge.  But everyone and everything is still raring to go and waiting to happen.

Saturday, 1st October is the new date.  After consulting the Tourist Bureau’s Calendar of Events and with various Island organisations who traditionally have events around this time, this date seemed best.

Due to the change of date, some dinner tickets have become available.  These are on sale at the Gas Centre, Middlegate Store, phone 22419 or chriskagate@icloud.com.

New date – Saturday 1st October 2022

RSL Club – 6:00pm for 6:30pm Start

HEIVA 2023

Monday 2nd January 2023

Heiva 2022 was cancelled due to the January Covid lockdown.  Monday 2nd January is a public holiday.  Bring a full day’s worth of picnic, water, sun-screen.  No money required unless you prefer to buy fish & chips, sausage in a bread or soft drink.

A great opportunity to catch-up with salan hoem f’ Kresmas.

There will be eight teams named for our Pitkern forefathers. Lots of games, contests and events honouring our Polynesian foremothers.

A full community day where everyone, including visitors, is invited to participate.  It’s not necessary to be part of the Island families to be on a team.   A fun, happy day.

Venue is Emily Bay.

Plentii more good time wii gat.  Lots of things happening.
