Federal Election Day has arrived, the final day for voting is Saturday 21st May 2022, which is known as Polling Day, so don’t forget to vote. All eligible voters should be enrolled, and it is a legal requirement to vote in the Australian Federal Elections.
There are 170 Commonwealth Electoral Divisions, AEC electoral divisions are areas legally prescribed for the purpose of returning members to the House of Representatives. Norfolk Island is included in the electoral district of Bean, ACT.
This election there are six listed candidates who are standing for the Bean, ACT electoral district House of Representative and the long list of candidates standing for the Senate.

The Australian Federal Electoral roll closed a month ago, at 8pm local time Monday 18 April 2022. It is now too late to enrol or update your details for the 2022 Federal Election. You can still enrol or update your details for future federal, state and local government elections.
The Norfolk Island Polling booth premises details under the Bean electoral district in ACT. Enter our Norfolk Island post code 2899 and follow the link for the details. The Bean, ACT electoral district is in Canberra and also includes Norfolk Island.
The Australian Federal Election Polling Booth for voting on Norfolk Island will be held at 100C Taylor’s Road, the empty premises in the Strand Arcade, next the Seriously Chocolate in Taylor's Road opposite Pete’s Place.
Early voting was available during the week:
Wednesday 18th May 8:30am - 5:30pm
Thursday 19th May 8:30am – 6:00pm
Friday 20th May 8:30am - 6:00pm
On Election Day, Saturday 21th May, Polling Day voting will be open from 8am to 6pm.
Remember to follow Covid-19 safety advise when voting, take your own pen with you.
If you are unable to attend the Polling premises for health or other reasons please contact the Polling booth staff . If voters are in isolation please ask a family member or friend to advise the officials that you are unable to attend to vote.
Postal votes were also available, but applications need to have previously been organised as Norfolk Island has limited Australian Postal Services and the cut off date was reported to be difficult for our remote area. Postal voting applications were advertised as available until 6pm Wednesday 18 May 2022, see the online website for details regarding postal vote at aec.gov.au/pva.
