Audited Financial reports

Under Section 418(3), Norfolk Island Regional Council (Council) publicly exhibited its audited financial statements and auditor’s report for the financial year ended 30 June 2025. The exhibition period commenced on 22 October 2025 and concluded on 6 November 2025. Members of the public were invited to make submissions regarding the statements during this period.

At the Ordinary Council Meeting on 27 November 2025, the submissions received during the public exhibition were presented.

Council thanks the two individuals that made submissions. The first submission requested more information about operational expenditure for the Liquor Bond department and the second raised concerns about the performance of the Electricity business and its budget.

At the close of the exhibition period, the audited financial statements and auditor’s report for the year ended 30 June 2025 remain unchanged. Council acknowledges these submissions and proposes actions for enhancements in future reporting to improve transparency and engagement, including expanded explanatory notes in future reports. The two submissions were also referred to the Council’s auditors.
