Title: Administration Assistant (APS2), Norfolk Island Administrator’s Office

Salary Range: $56,642 - $62,531 (Plus Remote localities assistance between $7,403 and $18,104 per annum)

Employment Type: Non-Ongoing, Full Time

The opportunity we have available

The Office of the Administrator is a small, energetic, dedicated team that delivers the legal and governance frameworks for the protection and wellbeing of the Norfolk Island community. They work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and value integrity, respect and a willingness to work collegiately.

You will be part of a small and dynamic team which provides high quality executive support to the Administrator of Norfolk Island. You can expect to undertake procedural, clerical, administrative support and operational tasks under the supervision of a senior staff member. You will be responsible for the completion of allocated tasks within specific timeframes with accurate and high quality outcomes.

Who are we looking for?

Ideally, the successful applicant will have strong administrative skills, including Microsoft Office use. You can expect to organise events (venues, attendees, catering), as well as supporting the Administration Officer and the Executive Officer with travel arrangements and processing payments, with the ability to multitask and manage time across a varied field of work.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate your ability to:

  • Be accountable for the completion of allocates tasks within required timeframes and compliance with procedures
  • Have a general understanding of the role and functions of the Office of the Administrator and be aware of issues that may impact on the delivery of tasks
  • Make decisions of a procedural or administrative nature
  • Good knowledge of Norfolk Island, its culture and community
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral to support and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to apply initiative and sound judgement
  • Problem solving skills, common sense and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • The capacity to produce high quality work in a timely manner.
