Last week saw out Annual Presentation Night take place at Castaway.  The night was well attended and the pizzas were definitely yummy!  It was a great way to acknowledge the efforts of players at Club Champs and throughout the year.  It was great to see so many of our Juniors there collecting prizes and they should be very proud of their achievements.

The Cheryl Tennis Club would also like to acknowledge the generosity of Chris and Karenne Gatehouse, at the Gas Centre, for their continued sponsorship of the event, with the presentation of shirts for the winners.   For winners of several categories, Cheryl Tennis Club Vouchers were also given out, which can be redeemed at the club.

Thank you to Jodie for your efforts as House & Social in coordinating this event and also to Julie as Match Committee for collecting trophies, re organising and updating and for providing concise and accurate results for the evening.  Also, Thank you to Tony for keeping proceedings running smoothly as the MC for the evening.

Mavis Cup, round seven, is on this afternoon, hopefully the weather will be kind to us.  I know we have a few out but we should have a reasonable roll up for this afternoon.  Looking forward to a great night of tennis.  Remember to bring meat and salad to share if you are staying on afterwards.

The results for the last round of the Men’s comp saw Umi’s team defeat Guss’s team and Arki’s team defeat Sam’s team.  Next Monday sees the finals being played with Arki’s team against Umi’s team.  This is followed by a BBQ afterwards so hope to see everyone there to support the finals.

Tempest Tuesday as it will now be known, due to the many windy evenings we have endured, saw our ladies play Rd 5.  There were some great rallies and lots of fun had by all.  A special mention must go to Jaimi Lee who did some smoking forehands and also some pretty special moves!  She always causes a stir, whatever court she is on! Of course, Tuesday night also provides the ladies with a social opportunity which they love almost as much as the tennis.  We will look forward to round 6 next week.  Points this week were:  Bri 18, Gill 16, Vanessa 14, Kerri 13, Toppy 12, Jodi 12, Kim 12, Tara 11, Sarah 11, Jo 6, Jaimi 5, Louise 4.
