Experience the culture of our forebears! From our mutineer ancestors and their Tahitian wives came the arts of wood craft, weaving, cooking & our Norfolk Language.

On this tour see a woodturning demonstration using Norfolk timber, visit an Island home where you’ll learn about our cooking. An Island weaving demonstration and a presentation on the Norfolk language will follow the afternoon tea break.

Breakfast Bushwalk and Clifftop Barbecue

Wed & Sat – 7am for Breakfast Bushwalk and 8:15am for Clifftop Barbecue

Take your choice of a stroll through Hundred Acres Reserve or for the more energetic, a leisurely 3.5km walk through scenic Mt. Bates to Captain Cook Monument. At the end of the walks we meet on the clifftop for a delicious breakfast barbecue. (These walks are not recommended to anyone with medical conditions).

If you prefer not to rise early and bush walk, but would like to have breakfast on the cliff top, join the walkers at Anson Bay & share in the delicious barbecue breakfast.

The Norfolk Island museums reveals to you Norfolk's amazing and multi-layered stories. The Island was first settled by the Polynesians, discovered by Captain Cook in 1774, then in 1788 by the British who later made it a convict hell hole. Since 1856 it has been the home to the descendants of the Bounty mutineers. The 4 museums located in World Heritage Kingston, help you explore the island's past as well as today's living local culture.

No. 10 Quality Row - A Georgian House built for the Foreman of Works and restored to 1844. Pier Store - Housing the Pitcairn/ Norfolk stories, including artefacts from the Bounty, Pitcairn Island and Norfolk Island since 1856. Sirius Museum- Housing nationally significant artefacts from the Flag Ship of the First Fleet HMS Sirius wrecked at Kingston in 1790. Commissariat Store - Archaeological remains that have been collected from around the Kingston area are on display here. A museum pass is available $35 for adults, school children are free. Explore at your pace, multiple entry or join a guided tag along tour. For Whom the Bell tolls - stories from the Cemetery. Every Tuesday and Friday at 11.30am a guided tour through the convict cemetery.

Margaret is Norfolks' leading bird expert and she knows exactly where to find Norfolk's unique Native and Endemic bird species.

Join her for a personalised 1/2 day tour Through the rain forest looking for shy and sometimes reclusive fauna and breath taking clifftops to see our migratory sea birds and their rookeries (in season). 

Margaret will pick you up at the Visitors' Information Centre, or your accommodation if centrally located.

Your half day tour starts early to catch the birds, includes a delicious morning tea and visits reserves, the National Park, and private property where the birds hide away.
