From 15 February : C’est La Vie, a new comedy from the director of The Intouchables

After organising hundreds of events over 30 years, Max is close to throwing in the towel.  The latest challenge for the irritable planner is a magnificent wedding reception in a 17th century chateau, where he thinks he has put together all the ingredients to make the party a success.  However as the celebrations get underway everything goes wrong.  He must deal with a volatile, foul-mouthed assistant, missing staff, rebellious waiters, an eccentric groom, broken electrical system and substitute DJ.  Can Max and his team pull things together to make the party memorable for all the right reasons?  In French with English subtitles  Rated M


From 22 February : Bohemian Rhapsody, starring Rami Malek


This is an enthralling celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and convention to become one of history’s most beloved entertainers.  The film also chronicles the band’s reunion and one of the greatest performances in rock history.  Rated M

Seasoned musician Jackson Maine discovers – and falls in love with – struggling artist Ally.  She has just about given up her dream to make it big as a singer until Jackson coaxes her into the spotlight.  But even as Ally’s career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jackson fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.  Rated M

From 1 February : First Man, a true life adventure starring Ryan Gosling, directed by Damien Chazelle


This is the riveting story behind the first manned mission to the Moon, focusing on Neil Armstrong and the decade leading to the historic Apollo 11 flight. 

A visceral and intimate account told from Armstrong’s perspective, the film explores the triumphs and the cost – on Armstrong, his family, his colleagues and the nation itself – of one of the most dangerous missions in history.  Rated M

This weekend : Faintheart, a heart-warming comedy starring Eddie Marsan, Ewen Bremner, Jessica Hynes

Faintheart charts the epic quest of Viking Warrior Readmund the Just, (aka Richard the sales assistant and weekend battle re-enactor), as he attempts to win back his long-suffering wife Cath and their children.  Tired of Richard’s all-consuming obsession with his iron-age alter ego, Cath kicks him out of their home and into the real world.  His honour is put in further peril when Cath begins seeing son Martin’s PE teacher Gary. 


Realising he must finally face up to the challenges of the present day, Richard enlists the help of best friend and “Trekkie” Julian and a merry band of assorted geeks known as the “Bloody Broadswords”. In the end it all comes down to Richard who must summon all of his Norse courage to discover the real warrior within and prepare for battle against the greatest enemy he has ever faced - responsibility.  Rated M

On the brink of the First World War, a strong-willed American woman, frustrated by ongoing injustices at home, follows an American doctor to a medical mission in the exotic Ottoman Empire.  However her loyalty to both the doctor and the mission’s founder is soon tested when she falls in love with Ismali, a lieutenant in the Ottoman Imperial Army.  With the invading army forces at their doorstep and the world about to plunge into war, she soon realises that the most dangerous place to be during the war, is in love.  Rated MA15+
