Affordable Internet access was introduced to Norfolk
in May, 1998. This truly has brought the world to our
island, and with it new resources with which to conduct
business and educate our young.
Norfolk Island Data Services led the Island into the
digital world, and provide wireless and satellite based
Internet service, including an Internet cafe, in The
Village.
The internet Cafe is opened 9am-5pm Monday to Friday,
9am-12pm Saturdays, Closed Sundays and public holidays.
The NIDS café is equipped with seven PC's and
two laptop stations. They offer printing facilities
as well.
There is also four other locations on the Island that
use the same system to provide internet café
services which we recommend for out of hours use.
They are the Norfolk Island coffee house, Govenor's
Lodge, South Pac and Fletcher christian apartments.
Access cards can also be purchased from all of these
locations for use on private laptops. |
