SO AUSTRALIA gets a seat on the United Nations Human Rights Council even though the UN has previously criticised Australia's treatment of indigenous people and its policy of detaining immigrants in offshore detention centres.

What about the Australian Government's 'head in the sand' attitude towards the people of West Papua where 500,000 West Papuans have been killed since the Indonesian takeover while Australia continues foreign aid and military training to Indonesia.

Will Australia push for a UN supervised vote of self-determination for the people of West Papua?

I think not given the Australian Government's own actions with the annexation of Norfolk Island where Australia sacked the democratically elected government removing items from a UNESCO world heritage listed building in the process.

Since the takeover the Australian Government has taken actions, which can only be described as 'cultural genocide', designed over time to wipe out the Norfolk Islanders as a distinct race of people.

Norfolk Island was a separate British Overseas Colony/Territory before and after Australian Federation and the people are entitled to a UN supervised vote of self-determination; will Australia support this?

Again I think not, after all, mineral resources both on the land in West Papua and under the sea surrounding Norfolk Island need to be 'pillaged' by the multinational mining companies that control our government.
