Nice to see that Andre (Freedom Fighter/Frequent Flier) Nobbs has had the opportunity to add a South Korean stamp to his passport.  Seeing the world on someone else's dime just as he did with the Norfolk Island Assembly.

So many frequent flier points, so little time. NZ, Aussie, UK, Pacific Islands and many other places under the radar, and most of the time at the pointy end of the plane.

Yep and always on someone else's dime. Korea, USA, UK, he must be ready to go platinum ? All on the Norfolk Island Government, the NIPD the Council of Elders or the crowdfunded  dime . That's a lot of pot luck fundraisers.

But is he producing any results?  Andre says yes, as he would while checking  over the business class menu on the flight to New York via Los Angeles.

But wait for the Trump moment as Andre's travels become open to question, the fake news trigger will be pulled and Andre will repeat his alternative truths as he "stealthily slinks out of town" with another $10k, our very own Pink Panther of People Power.

An   'argumentum ad hominen',   such as that just parroted above by  MOREFRED [Fred 'Miles'/'Wombat' Howe] is - by definition - the last resort of the half-wit.

Interestingly, in this case, Fred is actually the half-wit'medium'  chanelling some other Canberra half-wit 'factotum' - higher up the Canberra-Beltway foodchain; ...given that there is a smidgeon of intellectual sophistication in the actual prose - if not the argument - the ghost writer is unlikely to be a politician ... more likely to be a shiny-arse bureaucrat-clerk Class 1.5 - fresh out of a Dawkinized CAE with a cookie-cutter 'degree' in the 'social-sciences'... & on the make up the greasy pole.

Whether this renders Fred to 'quarter-wit' - or perhaps less - is a moot philosophical point, which I shall leave to the judgement of the reader.

The gratuitous attack against André  is, however,  arguably defamatory & therefore actionable; ... libellous in this forum & slanderous if Fred has been retailing the same garbage verbally around Norfolk.

I hereby pledge an initial US$100 for a legal-action defence fund, if André & the NIPD decide to bring Fred Howe before a Court of Law.  More US$ to follow if action is initiated.

Dear Sir,

I am sure you are aware that the Australian Government does it's utmost to ignore your plight.

The only news we get is from your on-line site, everything is boycotted by the media, as it is

owned by the Govt. If anything is allowed to come through, like your small video to express

the issue that you are not Australians, it  is shown at impossible times: 11.00pm and later.

No democracy here but sheer dictatorship.

Would the Aboriginal Society back you up?

We are disgusted with the Australian Government's attitude.

Maybe a plane dropping flyers all over Australia might help, well it is a kind of cold-war isn't it?

Invite Prince Harry, he may have some clout? Down the track you are all somewhere from English

blood - look at the Peerage list!!! It is English NOT Australian.

Wish we had a magic wand.

We keep hoping there is a way out of this.

Wishing you much strength,

sincerely yours,

Ted & Corinne Parkinson

Speaking of half wits.Welcome back TSS.

Morepork - I would vote for the Junket loving frequent flyer myself.  One wonders what the hell Andre has achieved in South Korea - perhaps a sampling of the fine Hotteok and w dream to bring such delicacies to our small and isolated isle.

And before we go on about libel and slander and sueing people, I would remind TSS, NIPD, and their few remaining supporters, to take a long hard look at themselves. There are many, nasty, vindictive and slanderous comments made by the above mentioned in many social media platforms, as well as in the local cafes. The wonderful thing about Facebook, is that you can screen shot such libellous comments, and, yes, I have a VERY healthy collection of such comments saved as screenshots. So whilst the anti-everything brigade has all its little groups on social media, that information is far from being confidential.

People in several Facebook groups would do well to remember that just because people don't disagree with them publicly when they make some of the unfounded and bullying comments on "closed groups", does not mean that that information is not being passed on to other people.

Meanwhile, TSS, as someone who is supposedly a local, why on earth would you be making donations in $US? Could it be that you are actually not a local, or, one of the few Islanders that live stateside. Florida perhaps? Or, working in one of the poorer asian countries that use the USD as a defacto currency?

re. " Speaking of half wits.Welcome back TSS. "

a) at least - by your own admission - I actually at least  register  on the Richter-Scale of   'wittedness' ...
which is a damn sight more than can be said for yourself sunshine...

b) as for - 'Welcome back TSS'- ... given that I never left ... ditto point a) above

1] there are are many very good reason as to whyAndré  should have visited South Korea - not the least of which, is that it has the world’s fastest wireless cyberspace speeds on the planet; ... with an average download speed of 33.5 megabits per second - nearly three times the average speed of second-place Hong Kong. Many lessons there for Norfolk.

2] Last time I checked,  the country also had an average upload speed of 17 megabits per second. One hundred percent of South Koreans have broadband access.

3] The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) recently declared that South Korea is the country with the highest estimated national IQ on Earth. Such highly intelligent people, will eventually Rule The World (RTW)

4] & most importantly of all   [4 is a very auspicious number in Korean culture]
South Korean vocalist is the only dude I know of, who can do Bon Scot even better than Bon Scot himself - as per:

Given Morefreds & Kooky-Kooks & Poohkins esq. Canberra
... ahem ... 'connections', shall we say, US$100 does indeed look kinda like chump-change at a Wall Street soirée - after all,  in their Canberra-Centric world   money grows viral on Tax-Trees ... & if you strip those bare - just hit-up the never-never international credit markets for another motza fix of the filthy lucre - indebting multiple future generations yet to be born, in the process ... who gives a shite - they won't be voting at the next election!!
And if you suck the toxic-debt well dry & yer credit-rating plummets to Triple-Z ... then, more fun!! ... just crank up the old De La Rue-Giori S.A  printing presses gathering dust in the Treasury Garage ... & pump that sweet-moolah out like mardi-gras confetti!   What could be easier?!?!

Well I can assure Poohkins & Co. that for those of us who still live in the real world - beyond the Canberra-Beltway - US$100 bucks still has to be acquired by dint of sweated wage-slave labour ... swinging the lead, hauling chain - in whatever neo-liberal sweat-shop you happen to end up in these days; ... as we speak US$100 will buy A$131.67 ... at the minimum wage Downunder, thats a potential of near-as-damn 7.5 hours of real work / real time, to accumulate that kind of capital.  SEVEN+ HOURS  of your life trickling away in pursuit of an ever-debasing currency.  See ref. below.

Poohkins & Co. - of course - still have the old 'Cargo Cult' mentality ... just be good happy-smiley little natives
& the Great'n'Good B'wanas in Canberra - in their infinite munificence - will do "whats best" for us all...

Well is this "what's best" for us:

FISCAL 2015/16:
Interest payments on Public Debt

Job seekers support
 - $11.5b

Residential and flexible care for the elderly & broken
 - $10.2b

Yup, interest payments on the public never-never, now easily trumps the budget outlays for both keeping alive & 'work-ready' the masses of unemployed ... AND 'caring' for the elderly, vulnerable & broken.

The Australian Political-Class  - which sponsors our trio of cashed-up stooges - levies [on last count] over 125 different taxes each year on the hapless Australian 'sheeple' - of these, at least 99 are gouged by the Feds (including 67 agricultural levies), at least 25 by the States and at least 1 (council rates) by local government.

AND YET - despite the metastasizing tax-take - one of the 2015-16 federal budget's most disturbing features was its projection of a deteriorating government balance sheet due to rising public debt levels.

The figures speak for themselves: gross debt (or the face value of government securities on issue) is projected to increase from about $460 billion (27.8 per cent of GDP) at the end of 2015-16 to about $565 billion (29.2 per cent) by the end of 2018-19.

Guess who'll be paying it all back, compadres.

To skirt Public Service caps, NIFI employment contracts allow for an Officer’s salary to be paid in their choice of global tier one currency; i.e. they can make the most of currency market fluctuations and opt for USD, CHF, EURO, GBP, as they please. It’s a concession retained from NI’s good ‘ol days, when dem tull hinted at a laundry on every corner, and it was inconceivable that the ATO would invade, interfere with the nudge and wink crew’s democratic right to make a US$, and generally poop the party.

The option is confidentially reviewed every quarter, by the four person NIFI Remuneration Committee.
